It’s helpful to have one facility where all the procedures, treatments and tests can be done under one roof in order to streamline healthcare, billing, record keeping and more. Sometimes this can be taken care of by a clinic or urgent care facility. These offices are often conveniently located, have flexible appointments or walk-in possibilities and are open during times when workers can get there around their employment schedules. Facilities have laboratories on the premises, too. This allows for an easier way to obtain pre-employment screenings that are necessary for hiring or existing staff members. Here are some examples of services that may be helpful to everyone in a business or company, no matter how larger or how small the organization is.

Preventative / Wellness Services – Employers’ Needs

As an employer, there are many healthcare services that are needed to run a business. Before workers are hired, they will need pre-screening tests and physical exams. Some examples are drug and alcohol screenings. No company wants to hire new workers who have these addictions. Other tests that may be necessary are weight lifting, manual dexterity and agility exams. In order to perform certain job functions, these tests are key indicators. During the course of their employment, either annually or before going on international travel, examinations or immunizations and vaccinations may be necessary. If a worker is hurt on the job, having a clinic that deals with workers’ compensation claims and treatments will be helpful. Having docs at the ready and available immediately will be helpful in keeping the jobsite compliant with this governmental agency. Providing preventative care and wellness services are ways to keep a healthier workforce, too.

Injured On Duty – Employees’ Needs

If a worker gets sick or injured on the job, having a nearby clinic that does business with one’s employer is helpful, indeed. So is having a facility available if you need a prescription for an ailment or lab test for a UTI or some other malady. If you’re traveling for business out of the country, you’ll need to make sure your vaccinations are up to date. If you’re a teacher or food services worker, you may need a TB test, x-ray, or a hepatitis vaccination. Regulations vary by state and employment industry. In order to stay healthier in the first place, it’s helpful to be employed by a company that promotes wellness. Wellness can be amped up with preventative care, stress management techniques, exercise and good nutrition habits. Smoking cessation is always a plus for wellness, too.

When it comes to occupational health, both the people who run organizations such as owners, managers and those who are the muscles and energy behind the products and services, will need care. Walk-in clinics and urgent care units are becoming a popular way to take care of all of these needs. Not only will everyone’s health be maintained but the facility can maintain records and send reports, as needed. These facilities offer convenience and are a solution to many medical necessities for the work world.
